Platform Overview
AfriConnect Exchange is operated by Africonnect Exchange CIC, a registered Community Interest Company in Scotland. Our mission is to connect diaspora communities with culturally relevant services, products, and opportunities.
Vendor Responsibilities
As a vendor, you agree to:
- Provide accurate business and contact information
- Maintain respectful and inclusive listings
- Fulfill orders promptly and professionally
- Respond to customer inquiries within 48 hours
- Comply with UK consumer protection laws and our Vendor Agreement
Listing Guidelines
- Use clear, truthful titles and descriptions
- Include pricing, availability, and delivery terms
- Avoid misleading claims or culturally insensitive content
- Upload high-quality images that reflect your offering
- Tag listings appropriately for visibility
Payments & Fees
- Payments are processed securely via Stripe or PayPal
- AfriConnect Exchange may apply a transaction or listing fee (details provided during onboarding)
- Vendors are responsible for applicable taxes and compliance with local financial regulations
Customer Service Expectations
- Communicate clearly and respectfully
- Resolve disputes directly and promptly
- Maintain a professional tone in all interactions
- Repeated complaints may result in account suspension
Legal & Compliance Summary
As a vendor on AfriConnect Exchange, you are expected to comply with the following UK regulations:
1. UK Consumer Protection Laws
These laws ensure fair treatment of customers. You must:
- Provide clear and accurate product/service descriptions
- Honour refund, cancellation, and delivery terms
- Avoid misleading advertising or unfair practices
- Respond to complaints in a timely and respectful manner
Relevant legislation includes:
- Consumer Rights Act 2015
- Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013
2. UK GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation)
If you collect or process any personal data (e.g., names, emails, delivery addresses), you must:

AfriConnect Exchange handles most user data centrally, but vendors must still respect privacy when communicating with customers or handling orders.
